Ral, Further to the information regarding the diary of the 4th Divisional Train ASC. I have noticed from the talk comments pages that .erik.schaubroeckscarlet.be is also tagging this diary and the latest comment he made was for this diary page 187 which mentions the date of 22-23rd Nov but no year.

I have yet to tag these pages further on but am wondering if all diary pages for 1914 are out of order, but I am not sure about this – they seem to be written in the same page format. Link to .erik.schaubroeckscarlet.be page comment for this diary: Image AWD000376d – Can you pick it up from this link because it is on a comment page which is on the talk comment page today? – Monday 4th July. Maybe some of the diary pages have gone back to the beginning of the Diary, i.e. August 1914.

Thanks Marie. We're having some issues with the system I'd normally use to check this out, so I can't really tell what's going on further ahead in the diary, but I'll make a note of the misordered pages and the possibility that it's more extensive.

Ral, I will keep you updated regarding the issue of pages of this diary, as I continue tagging it and see how far the pages go on for 1914, which have followed the pages for 1917.

In December 1914 I think I missed one page, namely 21- 24 December.

I tagged this page or 21st-24th December 1914 which was page 195. We seem to be working on the same diary at the same time. I am about to tag page 202 which is for the 1st January to 4th January 1915.

    I jumped from page 216 (22 jan 1915) to page 234 (22 feb 1915).

I tagged pages 216 to page 234 in this diary. I think it is because we are both tagging these diary pages for the 4th Divisional Train. It seems you are receiving some of the diary pages and I others.

In April I missed the pages 261, 262, 263 and 265. I finished the month of May and of that month I only missed the pages 279 and 290. Then suddenly appeared a cover of the Month of May as page 297 leaping the pages 295 en 296. Four appendices followed (298,299,300 and 301) and the first page of the month of June was page 303. So I missed 302. Still 33 pages to tag.

Thanks for keeping us posted on this confusing diary!

I wonder, though, if this diary has the same issue as the 406th Field Company R.E. where both Stork and I didn't see a large number of pages that were apparently tagged by only one person.

I reported to Ral that a lot of these pages in the diary for the 4th Divisional Train were not in order when they come up to be tagged. He I believe has taken a note of these. By the way I tagged page 279 to 307 (but page 308 did not appear) and continued in sequence from 309 to 322. My next page to tag will be 323. .There are 336 pages to this diary and the years do not run in formation. i.e the diary Title runs from August 1914 to 28 February 1919. I did not start this diary at the beginning but started it on page 83, so do not know what month or year it started but page 151 was for 4-6 August 1914 so it did not start at the beginning. Cynthia at the time I was writing this to post, you had just posted your comment.

It sounds to me like a combination of misordered pages and also the issues Cynthia mentions. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    Final update for the diary of the 4th Divisional Train (18, 25, 32, 38 Companies A.S.C.) – Aug 1914-28 Feb 1919.

Regarding misfiled diary pages for the above Diary. The diary ended on page 336 for 23-31st December 1915. This diary did not end in February 1919. Page number 332 did not appear. It should have followed page 331 for 20th Sept-7th October 1915. (Maybe someone else tagged this). Link for page 331 - https://talk.operationwardiary.org/#/subjects/AWD000377x

PS Forgive the pun but this 4th Divisional Train diary has given me quite a ride through its misfiled pages etc. Now I have finished tagging it, I am glad to disembark and tag another diary!

Erik, your work is much appreciated! Thank you. Try one of the infantry diaries next. They tend to be a lot more straight forward.

Marie, thank you for the update.
