    I've just found a list of men whose promotions were cancelled. Do I still tag their name under Promotion?

    I don't think so. Just tag the names (in the demoted rank, so e.g. if Cpl Smith is now LCpl Smith, tag him as a LCpl) and tag as "Other" (or if they were demoted for disciplinary reasons use "discipline")
