According to CWGC 157 officers and men of the RI Regt. killed on 21 March.

#gas Enemy opened heavy bombardment mostly of gas at 4.20am. asted 4 hours. 21st Mar 1918. Weather foggy.

8.30am Enemy attacked and broke through A & C Coy's and reached Ronnsoy Village before S & B Coy's were aware that the attack had commenced

#prisoners No one from A & B Coy's got back to Btn-either being killed or taken prisoners. Enemy had practically surrounded Ronssoy Village.
