Men have a waterproof cape & 4 waistcoats (not liked much) these 4 waistcoats are in process of being returned to Ordnance.

Transport drivers have fur coats and Cyclists British warm coats.

Waterproof capes excellent only difficulty heavy on march when wet.

200 pairs of gum boots issued very useful in trenches. Few pairs of waders issued -excellent.

Waders are warmer and drier than gum boots which get wet inside and are cold for the feet.

The gum boots issued are difficult to walk about in on slippery ground.

Various forms of grease are issued for the feet to prevent frostbite.
