War Diaries Talk

7th Field Coy. RE

I stumbled across this extensive site http://www.shiny7.uk/7FdCoy1914.html devoted to the 7th Field Coy. RE, 4th Division today. It covers the company's first experiences in France 1914, up to and including Christmas.

The official war diary is here, but it is added to by entries from an OR's private diary from the same day. Lots of photos and at the bottom there is a link to a trip taken in 1914 retracing the 7th FC's activities. Also lots of pictures on that page, many duplicates of those on the first page, but a few new ones have been added as well.

What I have stopped to look at so far is really interesting. There's way too much here to get through in one sitting, at least for me.

Thanks for that information Cynthia, regarding the 7th Field Company RE, 4 Division with such interesting photos of men and places. I have put the link into my WW1 file, in case that particular diary comes up for tagging.
