Commanding Officer - 1st Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment and others dined at the Hotel Wester afterwards they called on a charming Belgian couple. The Belgian couple told CO and Major Mace about the ways of the Boche during the 4 years occupation.
The husband did a lot of secret service work but fortunately, was not caught. He conveyed his information to another Agent. He was heavily fined for hiding a motor car, which he had locked up in his garage. By constantly moving about (allowed to, as over 40) he managed to procrastinate till the Amistice.
