    Report on Festubert 18th April 1918– 1 Btn Gloucestershire Regiment

    A very lucky German American succeeded in getting into Cailloux Keep. Enemy prisoner then took his courage in his hands loomed out of the mist, hands in pockets and a large cigar in his mouth, announced to our nearest man 'That he was thoroughly fed up'.     He might have been fed up, but he was also smart enough to let them know he wasn't the usual German soldier.
