When the enemy attacked and practically surrounded Ronssoy Village, on the 21st March 1918, none of A and C Companies got back – all killed or taken prisoners.

That was a terrible day for so many units. It was the start of the German Spring Offensive. So many companies and whole battalions were taken prisoner or killed.
