Absolutely fascinating... it's great to see these sorts of century-old narratives brought back to life through the work you do on this project!
Everyone knows trench warfare was hell, but the details can really get to you.
I wonder if it wasn't almost for the better for that prisoner that he got blown up. I'm not sure I want to know what the "interrogation" might have consisted of! Are there records on that?

You do get the occasional reference to intelligence gained through interrogating prisoners. I'm honestly not sure what sort of treatment they would have received - it probably depends who got their hands on them first.
