Is there a handier hashtag for the Medal of St George 3rd Class medal apart from #medalofstgeorge ! What was it awarded for anyway?

It was a Russian medal, awarded for gallantry, I believe. They're relatively rare amongst British troops, so it probably would be best to use the full hashtag - there were several other awards involving st. george which weren't quite the same thing, so best to be specific. Thanks!

I've seen these awards given to Indian troops.

is #Indianorderofmerit ok? For Indian Distinguished Service Medal I have used #IndianDSM as anything else seemed a bit long-winded

    Yes, that's great. Thanks!

One thing that's clear now is that we hadn't anticipated the number of distinct terms which would come out of the Indian Army diaries. Good job dealing with them all - I'll collect new medals and other tags together and add them to the list.

Yes, that will do nicely 😄

I know it's a bit of a pain, but I think we should follow the same format with all Indian awards - a long-hand tag should allow us to be clear about what we're looking at.

    Thanks!
