    I cannot decipher part of this sentence:
    Patrol of 8 Germans seen by left listening post following up 93rd ….? Scouts. Image AWD000149g

    I think it says "93rd A&S H*** Scouts" (I can't work out which letters they have used where I have put the stars!) and it means Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. They were formed from an amalgamation of two line regiments, one of which was the 93rd and there were many people in WW1 who still used the old Unit numbers when talking about a line infantry unit, so that might be what the "93rd" refers to.
