#misfiled page in the diary of 1 Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers

  • marie.eklidvirginmedia.com by marie.eklidvirginmedia.com

I don’t believe this page (253) 254 in my profile, belongs to the diary of the 1st Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers. It seems to be a report of operations for something else headed Page 52. This Report page appears after a Cover page for April 1918 for the 1 Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers and before their April 1918 diary page. Thanks for reporting this, Marie.

I've merged the two threads together because the two report pages obviously go together.

I wonder where the two pages belong.

I just looked at it. It seems to be about German troop dispositions somewhere around Dixmude. There's also a reference to Senegalese troops, which according to this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senegalese_Tirailleurs would put it in 1914. This makes sense in light of the several references to a work of some kind called "Ypres 1914" throughout the two pages.

If I'm correct, then these two pages are really lost as they are not relevant to the spring of 1918!
