Is there a bug on the system?

I Checked my comment entry on page link http://talk.operationwardiary.org/#/subjects/AWD0003am1 for diary of 2nd Battalion Machine Gun Corps. i.e . This comment contains an abbreviation DAG - the word after it (which I will not repeat in case it occurs here) has a yellow circle on it - very like a smiley fact but not a face. Not sure if this is a bug on your system. I am on Windows 7 using Chrome.

No, don't worry - it's not a bug. Just certain combinations of characters will render as an emoticon (a smiley face or similar - they come in a variety of expressions). I wonder whether you had a colon in there before the 'D' or deputy. If so, it will turn into this: 😄

That's '=D', which I think is what you must have typed. The way around this is just to leave a space between '=' and 'D'.
