    Quite unusual for them to be as far forward as a Field Ambulance, Casualty Clearing Station was usually the limit, and more often at a general or stationary hospital

    I notice they were only there for temporary duty. I wonder if the FA were reasonably far behind the lines at that point, i.e. close enough to one of the larger medical facilities, that a few nursing sisters could have been lent them for the duration of their stay.
