Negative image

    This page is black instead of white and probably there are pages missing: cover page, 1- 5 august. Pages of diary are consecutive

    This looks like what was called a photostat, an early form of photocopying that produced a negative image.

    Thanks for noting the missing pages, but if our page numbers are consecutive, and the missing pages haven't turned up within a couple of months, they are probably gone for good.

    I looked for Photostat and I found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photostat_machine Apperently one step is omitted to have a positive image : "The result was a negative print, which took about two minutes in total to produce, which could in turn be photographed to make any number of positive prints."
