What is On Command?

I'll be honest and say I have no idea.
Perhaps someone else may be able to help though. I've noticed this is dated after the Armistice, if that is helpful.

I've never seen that before, but I imagine it means they were assigned to brigade or divisional staff. Or possibly that they were on a command course - training. I'll look into it and see if I can find anything out.

Nothing springs to mind for me either, particularly as one lowly second lieutenant is so marked.

That's why I also thought of some kind of training - perhaps he'd been earmarked for grander things. And with it being post-armistice, having so many of the captains off elsewhere wouldn't have presented as much of an issue, I'd imagine. But that's just a guess - I haven't found anybody who knows for certain what it means yet.
