Last thursday I visited a museum in Veurne (Furnes) and one of the subjects was the mobile X-Ray units operated by Marie Curie and her daughter Irène. http://theconversation.com/marie-curie-and-her-x-ray-vehicles-contribution-to-world-war-i-battlefield-medicine-83941

Erik, I recently watched a BBC 2 programme, regarding“ICONS ( asks you to assess the achievements of the 20th century's most important and influential figures).

The programme featured Marie Curie, her achievements and life etc and included reports on her mobile X-Ray units and her involvement. I would say she should be amongst the top Icons featured.

Your visit to the museum in Veurne (Furnes) would have been a very interesting visit to make. Thank you for posting such an interesting item
