14th MGS

The only abbreviation I find is Machine Gun School, but I don't think this is correct being here in a medical unit.

Read entry as “3 shells fell in village about 7.15pm. 1 man of the 14th/MGS killed”. Maybe the Machine Gun School was in that area.
Records show a Machine Gun School was opened in France. Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_Gun_Corps

The Cavalry Divisions had Machine Gun Squadrons... not Companies. I found the 12th MGS in the 1st Indian Cavalry Division but didn't find the 14th in the 2nd Indian Cavalry Division (where Mhow CFA was).
Found a reference now: http://www.wikiwand.com/en/2nd_Indian_Cavalry_DivisionPosted

Yes, I think Squadron is the most likely answer. The cavalries' main fighting groups were also called squadrons rather than companies as in the infantry.
