I know what A.B.C is and also what S&T C. and ASC means, but where stands A.H.C. for? Army H.... Corps? That abbreviation appears usually when a cook is mentioned in the diary.

For a moment I thought the same, but searching for the Army Hospital Corps I found that the A.H.C. was reorganized into the RAMC in 1898 and now it is 1917. So I thought that my guess was a wrong guess.

Looking at the comments from the Comments box on the page, the answer is that he is on a temporary commission as a medical officer rather than a soldier.
