Great War Forum

Stork, I hope you don't mind but I decided to make this a forum post.

The Great War Forum, formerly known as the Invision Zone, is actually a good resource for these type of details. It was originally a part of The Long Long Trail website, but is now independent.

These folks generally know what they are talking about and often provide documentary evidence like trench maps. This particular link https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/255361-unknown-captain-mc-teall-cottage-passchendaele-new-british-cemetery/ posted for this page also includes a Burial Return form from 1920 when graves were being identified and concentrated in the CWGC cemeteries.

Anyone using the Great War Forum for research should, of course, judge from the tone of the conversation on any particular page as to whether it seems reliable.

Stork here is a link for you mentioning Teall Cottage.

East of the Passchendaele–Westroosebeke road was Teall Cottage, a pillbox giving a commanding view over the ground to the north of Venison Trench and further on were the outer fortifications of Westroosebeke. The topography of the area enabled the Germans to avoid obvious entrenchments and the front was held by shell-crater positions and fortified. Article has 8 links to it.

Regarding the Burial Return in the link posted in Cynthia's comment, It is amazing how many interesting records there are of WW1.
