Maybe Sergeant/Acting/Bombardier - not sure though.

No, not sergeant/acting bombardier. Sergeant is a higher rank than bombardier.
It appears just before the farriers, shoeing smiths and saddlers, so maybe it has something to do with one of those appointments.
