Please can anyone help me find the name of the CO/writer of the 94th Field ambulance in 1916? I cannot read his infrequent signature nor am I able to find him on Google etc. Is there a quick/sure way of finding the names etc of such people?

Looks like this is the diary of the 93rd FA, and the year is 1917 (for this page, at least.) It's frustrating, I know, but there's no surefire way of getting this kind of information. If it's an infantry battalion, this page is a very useful resource: http://www.ww1infantrycos.co.uk/british regiments.html
This site can be useful for RAMC units: http://www.ramc-ww1.com/index.php but not in this case.
So as annoying as it is, the only real way to be sure of this is to hope for a more legible signature at some point.

Is that his signature at the top of the right-hand column? It might be Lt. Col. A.M. Pollard. https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/3543904
