    I wonder how the author can mention in April 1915 a DCM which was only awarded in Januari 1916. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/29438/data.pdf

    I think that originally this page had only the list of names and that the awards and their dates were added later. The two men Mentioned in Dispatches, the DCM, and the Russian medal are all dated later than the date at the top of the page. You can see that they are in different handwriting and different ink.

    The date on top of each page of this 123th battery diary is also written in different ink.

    It does look like they must have been recommended for an award at the time the diary entry was written, but it was only officially awarded at the beginning of 1916. Quite conscientious record-keeping, to come back and update it!
