What is a S.M. Field Ambulance?

I think S M may be an abbreviation for the South Midland Field Ambulance. of the RAMC. They are entered on this link:

It might be a South Midland Field Ambulance, but if it is it would be from the 48th (South Midland) Division not the 61st (2nd South Midland) Division which did not go to France until the end of May 1916. The 48th Division had been in France since March 1915. http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/order-of-battle-of-divisions/61st-2nd-south-midland-division/ This page contains a link to the 48th Division.
I can't think of anything else S.M. might be. His description of it evacuating from the right half of the right battalion seems to indicate it is at least another brigade and possibly another division.
Marie, your link doesn't work.

Cynthia just tried the link I gave you again, and it did work for me again. I have noticed your comments about the dates also.
Link for 48th (South Midland) Division:

When I try that link all I get is a page that says Bad Title. I wonder if it's different because I'm in the US.

I think that may be the reason Cynthia, I can still access the link from England.

Doesn't work for me. It's something to do with emphasised text, although not sure why that's an issue.
Anyway, here it is, for anybody who couldn't access it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/61st(2nd_South_Midland)_Division
I also think SM stands for South Midland.
