O.H.C.

Any idea where O.H.C. stands for in the sentence: putting O.H.C. in a house (22nd). Or is it O.H.S. (24th)?

I'm not sure exactly what it stands for, Erik, but I think it must be some sort of reinforcing material or emplacement.

Or does it have something to do with observation posts?

Maybe this can help. On the next page (see image) it says "putting O.H.S. over 6 loopholes". Image AWD0003u7s

I'm no closer to knowing what it stands for, I'm afraid, but I'd guess the S might stand for steel. The way they're talking about it sounds like some sort of armour plate. That's my best guess at the moment.

I can't find any evidence, but can I suggest 'overhead cover' or 'overhead shelter', i.e. sandbags/timber protection against mortars and artillery shrapnel fire?

Yes, it could definitely be something like that.
