grid reference

  8 August 7 p.m. At first I thought P.10 3.8 was a gridreference, but Bois Francais has F.9.d as grid reference. Don't know where P.10 3.8 stands for.

  Erik, I think this designates a particular section of trench, rather than a grid reference. It's possibly F10, instead of P10, with 3-8 marking out a length along it.
