I wonder if this could be Godewaersvelde. I searched for Godversveldt on Google and the only thing I could find in some kind of diary of the second world war, was GodversveldE, Godversvelde is mentioned in that diary as a town laying beneath the Monts des Cats which corresponds with the location of Godewaersvelde. The diary link http://www.t-n-m-s.com/index.php?topic=29734.15 . Godewaersvelde is also only 10km away from Westoutre and apparently there was a C.C.S. station in Godewaersvelde at that time. http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/regiments-and-corps/locations-of-british-casualty-clearing-stations/

I think it is likely Godewaersvelde. It appears that he spelled it like it sounds, rather than taking the time to find a map and take a look it.

The CWGC site says that there were three CCS's in Godeswaersvelde in the summer and early fall of 1917, and that one of them stayed there until April 1918 when the German offensive forced it to move back. There is a British cemetery there now.
