first named patient

Pte Tutball is my first patient who has a name. However there is nobody in Lives of 1st WW with that name. I did find TuDball and Titball, but I don't know which one is the right one. The Field Ambulance in now following the 84th Infantry Brigade.

There is a 30509 Private TUDBALL 1st Bn. Welsh Regiment, on this link: https://firstworldwaronthisday.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/157-died-on-this-day-sun-21031915.html

On the diary page I think it reads – “he was from the 1st Welch Regiment” line 2 continuing on line 3.

PS This is a long article so I suggest following tip:

On the page of article, Press Control key then F key, (Find). At the top right hand side of the article it will show a long white blank square. type in the word/name, for example (Tudball) or what word reference you need, then press Enter and the word/name Tudball, it will now be highlighted in colour in the text, enabling you to find it quickly. It will also show you how many times the word/name Tudball, comes up in the article.

PS I notice the diary entry is for March 1915 when he was diagnosed and it says in the above article he died 21/3/1915.

The 13th Infantry Brigade moved to the 28th Division from 23 Feb. to 7 April, 1915, while the 84th I.B. took its place in the 5th Division. This arrangement allowed the 28th Division to have some more experienced troops for that period, while the newer troops in the 84th I.B. got some training in the line. The 1st Welsh Regiment was part of the 84th. http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/order-of-battle-of-divisions/28th-division/

I found three Tudballs in the 1st Welch Regt. on Lives; one of them is the same man Marie found. It sounds like he had been ill with meningitis in the trenches before being brought to the Field Ambulance, so he may have died soon after. The next page or two of the diary may tell you. https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/search#Category=lifestories&FreeSearch=tudball&PageIndex=1&PageSize=20&Facets[0][Key]=last_name_s&Facets[0][Value]=Tudball&Facets[1][Key]=service_s_mv&Facets[1][Value]=British+Army&Facets[2][Key]=corps_s_mv&Facets[2][Value]=Welsh+Regiment
