injured and wounded

21th September The author makes a distinction between injured and wounded. The men who were injured or wounded do not belong to the 13th Fld Amb. but I wonder what's the difference.

I'm not sure, but possibly he means that 3 men were wounded directly by the bomb, such as shrapnel wounds, and the other two were injured by the damage done to the building, such as the broken glass from the windows.

It's not a distinction I've seen before either, but I wondered whether it might also be something to do with the degree of seriousness of the injury.
