Train missed

  Train left without warning, leaving behind 2 officers and 21 men. Wonder how they rejoined their unit. 😃 Not the how but the when I found on the next page: they were on their destination before their unit.

  I suppose they got onto the next train that somehow passed the first one on the way to their destination. Sometimes trains were delayed for long periods of time.

  If the second train had a higher priority than the first one, the first one might have been put onto a siding to wait while the second one passed it.
