Don't you think this should be Aubencheul-aux-Bois, between Honnecourt-sur-l'Escaut and Villers-Outréaux? Mentioned this in comment box.

The area Aubencheul-aux-Bois comes up on the google map. Bois means a wood. Probably that is why Auberchaux-Bois does not come up on the google map. i.e "smoke visible from trees Auberchaux-Bois...

Aubencheul-aux-Bois is a French commune in the department of Aisne in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Aubencheulois or Aubencheuloises

Yes, I think you are right. Possibly the lieutenant who compiled this report was trying to spell it from the way someone said it. It would be easy to run cheul and aux together.

It also seems likely because Aubencheul-aux-Bois is in square 13 on map 57B S.W. and the mill mentioned as being at T.20.b is clearly marked on that map.
