Easy life?

Am I wrong when I think that the artillery had a much easier life than the infantry, especially in winter when they are in their winter billets and the infantry in the trenches.

In some ways, the artillery might have been a bit safer than being in the trenches. They never had to go over the top. But they were subject to being shelled to silence them. They also often spent a long time in action, a month or more, while their division was at the front, although I expect that teams of men were rotated back and forth so they could have a few days in reserve and maybe get a bath.
Not all artillery units had winter quarters, either. This unit you've been tagging has them because they are part of a cavalry division. Other artillery brigades, such as the 26th Bde. RFA, which I am tagging, were in action along with their division year round.
