    Bicycles were widely used by the British on the Western Front. In these orders, it looks like the 2nd Lt. and the four CQMSs were going to go ahead to the new area by bicycle.

    There were cyclist companies attached to many divisions. The 8th Royal Dublin Fusiliers drew men from the 16th Division Cyclist Company as reinforcements, at least during their first year in France.

    Cyclist's didn't play much part as a mobile force during the trench warfare years, but at the start of the war and during the later phases, they were extremely useful.
